Night Jobs in Hotels
Night Jobs in Hotels
Hello! My name is Johnny Sanchez, I live in San Francisco and I'm 32 years old. A few years ago, I was working in the Hotel Royal, one of the best hotels in San Francisco. My job was actually not very good because I have to work at night but sometimes some really exciting things happened...It was Saturday night, and I was just going along the 25th floor when I heard two very loud voices coming out of one of the rooms. It seemed as if two men were arguing. I was curious and so I creeped towards the door and watched through the keyhole. I saw two men who weren't arguing any more, they were already fighting. And one of these men looked really similar to me! But obviously the other man was to strong for him: He hit him accurate in the face. The man who was looking like me staggered backwards to the window... The other didn't leave this opportunity and pushed him out of the window! I heard a loud scream that stopped abruptly. Apparently the scream was loud enough to wake up a blonde woman who ran out of the bedroom. She had a colt in one of her hands and with it she threatened the man who won the fight. He was staring out the window and he seemed very surprised by the woman. "HEY! What's going on here?", she shouted. "What the hell are you doing here?!? And where is James?" She remembered that the man was just looking out the window when she entered the room, and so she went to the window and took a short look at the ground. "What is that down there? Don't tell me it's James..."
The man didn't answer, but he tried to attack the woman. That was a deadly mistake... She didn't hesitate to shoot and only two seconds after the attack, the man was dead.
At this moment I lost control about me for a few seconds: I didn't know why, but I entered the room. Immediately she pointed with the weapon at me. "Hey! Who are you?", she asked, "Do you know that you really look like a famous special agent? But you aren't him, I would recognize him out of 1000 men who could be copies of him... And I think, he's dead..."
I answered: "Don' t shoot at me please! I won't do anything to you! I'm only a member of the hotel personnel!" She took down her weapon. "You're right. The man who looked like me is dead. He," I pointed at the body of the other man, "pushed him out of the window."
She grabbed some papers that were lying on the desk, took my hand and ran out of the room.
And she was right, the murder didn't come alone: at the end of the floor appeared two men in black suits with black sunglasses. One of them was very tall and had extremely broad shoulders, the other man was small and his suite seemed to be much too large for him. The small one shouted something and the other man took a machine gun out of his jacket.
The blonde woman and I started to run for our lives. Fortunately the man wasn't a good shot and none of the bullets hit us before we could firstly escape behind the corner. As always in such an adventure, the lift was in the first floor and so we had to take the stairway to leave the building.
It was horrible to run down all the 25 floors, always having two men who wanted to kill you behind you...
The next critical point was to pass the long entrance hall without being shot. "We gotta run faster," shouted the woman, "If we succeed in passing this hall, we can escape by car! I parked it just next to the entrance."
So I tried to mobilize my last power and kept on running as fast as possible. The Entrance Hall seemed to be endless long. When we had already passed the half of the hall, the big man started again shooting at us.
Suddenly I felt a horrible pain in my right shoulder: I was hit by one of the bullets! Nevertheless, somehow I could leave the hotel.
The woman was driving an expensive-looking red sports car. We got into the car and immediately she drove away. The weather conditions were very bad, it was a really bad thunderstorm and you could see nearly nothing. Unfortunately the two men were still following us. They were driving a large military jeep.
"Are you all right?", asked the woman. "I see, they've hit you. First aid kit is under your seat. By the way, my name is Alyssa. And yours?"
Now I had the time to look at her a little more carefully. She was perhaps 25 years old and she really looked good. I would bet she could earn much money as a model. "I'm Johnny. What's going on here? Who was the man you called James? Why did they kill him?"
"I don't have the time to explain that all now", she answered, " I only can say that James was working for the British secret service. He had to steal some information about a secret formula which enables you to build a chemical bomb that could cause a lot of damage. And some people don't agree with the British that he should get this information. But enough of that stuff, we have to look that we can escape those killers!"
She was going to drive into the Coast Mountains, and you can believe me, that this was really dangerous because of the weather...
But the weather was the lower problem: The tall man was leaning out of the car window and in he was holding a rocket launcher in his arms!
I yelled at Alyssa: "Damn! Drive faster! They gonna shoot with rockets at us!"
"Don't panic!", that was her only reaction. I wondered how anybody could stay so cool as her in such a situation.
Then the tall man fired the rocket at us. With an really dangerous maneuver, Alyssa avoided the rocket that was exploding in a tree thirty meters in front of us.
Our hunters were now driving right behind us. I think the big man wanted to fire at our tires: he kept on leaning out the window, now holding the machine gun in his arms again. But obviously he forgot that Alyssa was a very good driver...
Suddenly she braked. The other driver wasn't able to react that fast and so he passed us. But unfortunately for them, the man with the machine gun was still leaning out the window... he crashed into the back of our car and I think he was cut in two pieces...
Now Alyssa pointed at a bag that was lying on the back seat. "Inside this bag is a colt. Do you think, you know how to handle it?" I nodded. "Well, you have to fire at the other car. I think it will do if you can divert him a little. On this mountain road at that thunderstorm that will be enough to loose control about his car... If not, I'll try to help him a little..." She grinned all over her handsome face.
I took the weapon, and I fired at the other driver. Of course I didn't hurt him, but for a short moment, he didn't look at the street but at me. And this short moment was used by Alyssa to hit the other car. That was too much for the other driver, he got off the street, his car landed somewhere on the rocks 20 meters below and it exploded.
"Oh my god!" I wasn't able to say more.
But not Alyssa: "OK, it's over, this guys won't do anything to us anymore... How are you? You've not been scared, haven't you? Well, I'm homeless now, I've been James' partner for two years now, and this two years I lived in hotels. You don't mind if I stay with you for the next months, don't you...?"
So, you see what you can experience if you work in a hotel...
